Are you talking about selling lists of customers that have charged back to use for scrubbing?

I guess it means selling the chargeback as a debt that is to be recovered from the guy with the card.

How can you prove whether it's so-called *friendly* or *real* fraud without knowing who was holding the card (or a copy of the numbers) at signup?

Couldn't you find that out with the IP address and time of signup?

I dont think that it is worth it. There is not enough info collected at the time of the charge, ie. a signature or photo copy of an ID or anything like that to fight with,

Well, they have the IP, they also have the CVV2 number from the back of the card. That means at one point that person has to have it in their hands.

From personal experience you give the person the old "Whenever someone makes a purchase on the Internet the billing company MUST capture the IP of the individual making the purchase. An IP is a unique number given to each computer that connects to the Internet. This number can be traced back to the exact computer that made the transaction. If you claim that someone used your card in an effort to avoid paying for your subscription, by law you are committing fraud.

The thing is, the majority of people will not have a CLUE WTF you are talking about and it sounds so "techie" to them. You would not believe the number of chargebacks were prevented in the past using this line to different degrees. Most of them would actually say "uhm, well, look, I...uhm....it is a small amount of money...uhm...not really worth all the trouble...can you just make sure I am not billed again?
Those that did not make the purchase are usually the ones that say "wow, that is great, hopefully they can trace down this f*cker that used my card and put him away". Those are the people that you can be pretty confident were telling the truth. The people trying to scam, a great deal of them panic when they hear about IP's and back off.

Guys really, are you not keeping up with things in the industry?

There are companies that will BUY the chargebacks off you for like half the value per a chargeback and then they will go after the person and collect the debt themselves.... However they wish to.

I wondered if anyone had used these services, the main sponsor at Internext IDV do this. Now this wouldn't add much to our business because our chargebacks are very frickin low but probably $15k or so by selling them.

So no one as used?

Fuck you are a wanker darren, honestly. You have such a superiority complex going on, and it is time you got over yourself. Yes you run a successful business, but you are by far the most successful person going around. You found out about selling chargebacks, now you come here asking for advice, people are not sure about the specifics and you think they are all idiots.

From the sounds of things you only learnt about this recently, and you are still finding out the details, so I am sure to a lot of people doing it already you are an idiot. Just a bit of advice, I understand alot of people on GFY are indeed idiots, but you need to get off of your high horse.

I think there should be a "coallition" of sponsor programs sharing a list of "bad clients", problem is that should would bring many problems and would be hard to put in practise
