Going into Video. Any Tips Appreciated.

What file format should I save my teaser movies as?
Most people offer (3) 1.5 MB videos, yes?

And what about subscribers? Give them the full movie in 1 clip or in sections?

Also, is there a good "All in one" pro-quality camera for an affordable price?

If anyone here shoots video, any tips would be most appreciated.

Oh, and is it possible to make ''ready for web" videos in iMovie, or is it Avid or bust?

I'll just tell you right now before you get ahead of yourself, there's no such thing as "pro quality video at an affordable price". Be prepared to spend $2 - $4k on anything anywhere near a pro quality camera. Then there's the software, and the lighting. That's expensive too.

I know. I'm using my recording studio's equipment. and audio gear's not cheap, i'm sure it's the same on the video side. But a TLM103 is affordable in comparrison to a U80 that basically does the same thing.

Don't they make cameras with mega zoom and lighting attachments?

Put it like this. What's the entry level professional cam? And what's the step up from that. that's the one I want.

I do not own a production company.

But I can still sell you some content!

Go here for the pro video cams. Sony VX2100 and Canon GL/2 are entry level so go up from there. Both of those are excellent camera for web video work and not bad for DVD work.

The Canon GL2 is the very best "semi-pro" camera in my opinion. Make sure you get a 3 chip, which it is. Anything above the Canon is really overkill, and its under 2K.

Get a soft box or umbrella lighting set, about 1K.

I offer both clips and full downloads, members love it.
