In the second half of this episode, the bottled water industry.
Is it true that tap water is no worse then bottled water? As far as Penn and Teller is concerned, it's all the same. A prank is played at a fancy resturant with the world's first "water stuart". He sells a couple all different brands of water that cost up to $8! Where does this water come from? All botles with fake brands were filled with the garden hose out back! While everyone who tasted these different brands, thought it tasted different each time.
In time, however, Coca-Cola realized it couldn't fight the trend towards water forever, so it came up with its own water brand. But instead of bottling spring water, Coca-Cola decided to bottle tap water. That's right: the very same water you get out of your kitchen faucet. Only Coca-Cola purified the water and then added in a minute amount of minerals. They then sold the water at enormous markups: as much as 300,000% (not a typo) over the original price for the water. That's the Coca-Cola way, it seems: take a bunch of really cheap ingredients, slap on a pretty label, and push it to the public at extraordinary markups. Heck, it worked for soft drinks, why not water, too?
can you guys taste the difference between different types of water or something, i sure cant
once again, i refer everyone to the penn and teller episode
they filled up like 10 fancy bottles all with tap water from the garden hose....EVERY SINGLE PERSON said each water tasted different...it was SO funny watching people savor and explain each flavor knowing it was all the same tap water
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.
That's the reason why I only drink tap water. They ran some tests on our tap water and it was better than 95% of the bottled water. The other 5% were equal

I can't drink bottled water, not even the kind from those big water dispenser things. I am very sensitive to the taste of plastic and the taste makes me gag and I can't seem to get rid of the taste for hours.

exactly, we have our little filter on the faucet, and when we need more bottled water, we take old bottles and fill them up with the filtered tap water
i just can't justify or trust spending money on bottled water

i hear that, i can taste the plastic in a lot of stuff too...i miss the days of the big bottles made of glass...my dad still has some of those as decorations around his house
A series of 1999 tests by the Natural Resources Defense Council showed that nearly one-fourth of 103 bottled water brands tested were contaminated at levels exceeding the limits of the states in which they were bought.
I like Naya out of Quebec... It's really hard to find good bottled real spring water.
I think it's hilarious how some people actually believe that the bottled water they drink comes from deep springs up in northern Alaska or some other imaginary place.
Almost all bottled waters, like Dasani, is simply filtered tap water.
With the exception of Evian and a few others, "spring" water is the biggest scam running.
