You are correct, but they won't over extend. They won't need to. All they have to do is keep expanding the way they are now. They already have the military.

I fully believe that China's economy will equal that of America's and the European Union in 15 years, and even less time if America's current financial situation continues or gets worse.

The US can pay off its entire National Debt in any four year period if it chooses to. The foreign debt that it carries is miniscule compared to the overall National Debt. In addition debt is meaningless as long as the GNP grows at a faster rate than debt. To KISS if you are carrying debt and your income increases you can carry addtional debt if you choose to. The GNP continues to outgrow debt thus the US can safely carry more debt.

What makes you think that the current financial situation is a problem. The world still envies the GNP growth of the US.

it amazes me how stubborn bush supporters are... No matter how many things is wrong about the leadership of bush, no matter how long he is fucking his people up the ass, no matter how much it all costs you, you still walk behind his ass getting annoyed by people without blindfolds telling you straight how it is: bush is one of the biggest mistakes in american history.
Please wake up, i just cant believe anyone that crazy to really stand behind bush... Very weird.

I'm concerned that rising debt will lead to higher interest rates sending the US economy into the shitter.

I am satisfied that interests rates will rise...and lower as has always been the case and the economy has never gone in the "shitter" since 1929. The economy flucuates to some extent but I do not think there has ever been a no growth period since the depression...an maybe not even then.

IMO, per capita GDP isn't a very accurate way of determing the average wealth of a country's citizens.

Wealth isn't distributed evenly, and in the case of America, wealth is very unbalanced.

There is no point even debating with guy who has "The good old USA!!!" listed for his location. That sums it all up. And that's the grand thing about freedom... is that we are all entitled to our own opinion as long as it does not get in the way of what our leaders think is best for us.

There has never been a time in US history with economic conditions such as they are now.

With the amount of debt that exists now, it's not enough to simply have economic growth, there needs to be consistent and significan't economic growth to manage the growing debt burden. Higher interest rates will slow economic growth, and for right now, interest rates are only going one way...up.

I don't even think per capita means much if you're trying to compare the average wealth of countries citizens.

wealth is not distributed evenly, and in some countries it is much less even than others

like i said: bush supporters are too blinded and too stubborn to have a normal convo about politics with. Every bush supporter is this way, EVERY one of em, it's like they're really brainwashed.
Plastic turkeys for thanksgiving, air photos with yellow-circled trucks as proof for nuclear weapons, lies. Strange for ppl to still stand behind bush ????

No, but it's a better indicator than total GNP with population not taken into account at all.

Why do you keep talking about GNP? Most economist use GDP as a measure to discuss economic size and growth.

You poor envious druggy. You simply cannot admit that the USA is the wealthiest country on the earth...by a very large margin.

I prefer GNP...but as you can plainly see from the figures that is little difference between GNP and GDP.

Being sustainable...is dependent upon the growth of the GNP and at this point it is not a problem...as debt can be increased as long as the GNP growth allows for an increase. In addition there are ways and means to pay of the entire National Debt in a matter of years if the Government so chooses.

You pathetic deluded old man.

Why on earth would I be envious of the USA when I live in Australia?

We are consistantly rated more livable than the USA and have a higher standrd of living.

everybody drop your work! I just heard the news the US is gonna invade Ireland because of a nuclear weapon threat.
Look at this proof, no way the irish can get away with this:

"This van stood here in the morning, but was gone in the afternoon. We suspect it of transporting weapons of mass destruction because of this. Why we don't know but we find an air photo with a circeled van a totally grounded reason to begin a war and take oil or other energy sources from that country." - C. Rice

Your National debt is over 70% of your GDP

Your forecast at going 1.3 Trillion over budget .... and at least that for the next decade

Explain to me how this could be paid off?

The simplest and quickest way is to raise taxes. The American people are the least taxed citizens of the Western world. Just to put it in perspective...Americans spend more on Pizza's every year than many...if not most of the worlds Nation's GNP.

All the major wars in the last century were caused and started by Europeans, Africans & Asians, but mostly Europeans, we have been waring for the last 1000 years with each other. Inclusive obviously of the two great world wars, maybe sometimes people should remember that?
