Eagles with the points sure seem good to me.. the Eagles defense is too strong right now.

Owens will play.

He dominates.. Pats secondary is weak. His presence alone is enough for guys like Smith, Lewis, Westbrook to get open easier.

Wiggles 01-26-2005 01:27 PM

i would bet my house on the Pats!

hahah, I was thinking the same thing.
Boneprone, tell your 'friend' to do something else during the game, at least he won't be pissed if they win and can be super happy if they lose and his money is still in the bank.

I'm a Pats fan but look at the past few SuperBowls.

AVM 01-26-2005 01:40 PM

BP - don't feel bad. I said I was quitting gambling two weeks ago, but have decided fuck it. It's the superbowl for fucks sake, no sense sacrificing my excitement/anticipation of the Superbowl - just so I can live up to Status quo, and be an unhappy pansie boy without a vice. Fuck it, give me my vice and gut wrenching action Feburary 6th.

We both know - watching an NFL game & watching an
NFL game with money on it, are two completely different scenarios.

*Off topic, last week I won a 4-game parlay, go figure huh. Now I'll never quit. :winkwink:

If I was your friend and I was determined to bet, I'd shop around and see if I couldn't get better than 25% juice on the bet.

TheMob 01-26-2005 01:48 PM

lol, i say tell him to gamble all he wants. he'll learn fast.

Don't forget, he purchased 1 point. Juice is usually 5%, however, when you start buying points - that's when shit gets expensive. Well worth the cost however, that extra point is the difference between one score, and two scores.

Screaming 01-26-2005 01:52 PM

Its going to be a great game.

You are right, I did buy 1 point on a game that is leaning towards -7.5 as we speak on the mainlines..

But she is right as well. I have enough VIP host connections I should talk to them and see if they can give me a little better juice on this with a 10k bet and buying 1 point..

Chances are I may be able to squeeze a few hundred somewhere for the action.

boneprone 01-26-2005 01:57 PM

Whoops..

I mean my friend should talk to his VIP hosts..

pxxx 01-26-2005 01:59 PM

Your friend has already made up his mind. All of this is procrastination.

Juice is standard at 10%, his point should cost him 5% on top of that, unless he's using some weird sportsbook. The book can set the bet to win ratio at anything they want to, but if you shop around and find someone who wants the bet, they should negotiate.

The house doesn't care who wins or loses, they just want an equal number of bets off and on.

There is no such thing as a sure bet. The experts make up the odds. They are the experts. They make money. And they make the money from people who think they know better then the experts...
