You know, I wish I could answer this with some authority, but I'd be typing out my ass so to speak. What I HOPE is that blogging is indeed a great way to promote, because spamming your own blog isn't illegal unless you want to press charges against yourself, in which case you should probably seek mental help for your MPD issues.

I do know that blogs get an insane amount of traffic and very quickly. It's definitely worth investigation if nothing else.
