Opportunities lost...

I'm often surprised at how many opportunities are being overlooked out there. Here's one example I just came across...

I typed "hentaianime.com" into the Location bar just to see what came up, only to be presented with a generic list of XXX links, only one of which had anything to do with the subject matter.

Surely anybody going to the effort of typing "hentaianime.com" (and I'll bet there are a few dozen every day) is looking for one thing, and one thing only!

This is just the most recent example I've come across, but there seem to be hundreds of sites mistargeting their domain type-in traffic... Food for thought, perhaps!

Chances are that person own dozens, possibly Hundreds of domains and doesn't have time to make a separate page for each...

It'd still be a good idea if the person spent 5-10 minutes building a page for more specific pages, including the links for other sites/domains.

In 8 hours you could make pages for 50 sites (4 hours if you were hard core), and I think the time spent would definetly be worth it, do you not think?

Cheers

I guess you could even build some kind of PHP/MySQL thing whereby all the domains redirect traffic to a script that:-

A) Reads the domain being visited
B) Looks up the "niche" in the database
C) Shows the appropriate page(s), exit consoles, blurs etc.

The only other work apart from the script itself would be to code domain names by niche and also to code advertising material by niche.

The development cost would very quickly pay for itself on a high-traffic site, I would imagine. Plus with an automated system, the maintenance time to swap sponsors in and out would be measured in minutes!

Yup, exactly what I was thinking you'd do. Allows for much better control of traffic as well, and if you want to go all out create a tracking system between all the sites - and track productivity on different pages etc.. I am sure that's how the people making the bigger dollars are doing it.

Cheers
