It's not working properly, I get most of the messages, but half my replys never make it to the recipient.

Deniska, Shu, Tim, Snow, Xapster, I don't seem to be able to get any messages through, please use my e-mail webmaster [at] thunderfree [dot] com

Hey I had the same problem.

If you don't have the latest version try the NEW ICQ 2001b Build #3640.
It worked for me.

I use ICQ 99a Beta v2.13 because I can't stand the ads in the newer ones

I'm using 99b, and I have problems with incoming offline messages being repeated whenever I connect, in particular.

Their way of making us upgrade?

well, I have to say this about that, I have been using 98b since 98, and have fought and fought upgrading. Eventually it got intolerable. Every time I logged on with it the same 6 or 7 people with 5 or more messages came up, and hardly any replies seemed to go thru, so two days ago I broke down and got 2001b.

All my problems with ICQ went away, and I have even gotten to the point that I don't notice their ads, which was the main reason I had not upgraded before. On top of that, they have some pretty nice feature that make it easy to carry on a conversation with 10 different people at the same time and remember what each discussion was about, which I find quite helpful.

So if you have ICQ 98 or 99, and are having lots of problems, yeah, they probably added them to force you to upgrade, but this is a good upgrade, and I usually think change is bad.

Just my $4.53

I've been going through the repeating message syndrom too...
I think I got 3,416 auth requests from rollin and 4,513 auth requests from gary...LOL

It's annoying, especially at 3 am when I'm like "why is this guy messaging me again, didn't I just answer that message 34 times in the last 3 days already?"

Maybe I'll just go back with the Devil Messenger from devil.com or good old AOL IM

Yes, it does that, I keep gettign the same messages over and over and over. This because a problem as soon as I used a firewall. I gave icq.mirabillis.com:4000 and from 2000 to 4000 to tunel through and it wont stop. Some people can messages me fine, some others can't at all. Some get my messages instantly, some the day after or never.

I bowed to the inevitable and upgraded today. The repeat messages have now stopped, but it did take 3 hours to convert my existing database.
