Definetely one of my new all time fav's.... I think its one of those movies where if you get it, then you really get it and if you don't, then move on...... I'm usually not into watching movies repeatedly, but I've probably watched this about 10 times, to me its always very very funny.... Great thread.

I watched about 40 minutes of it HOPING it would get better but I couldn't bare to stand anymore pain and had to shut it off. Is there some sort of a miracle twist half way that everyone all of a sudden found the movie funny? Not once was I even close to laughing, except when I noticed that 40 minutes seemed like 8 hours had passed by.

I don't have cable, but I felt like he was an Mtv character that I missed out all the build up on and I felt like I missed out on a joke or something.

Ya I kinda agree with you, I saw it and expected better from all the hype, it did have some funny moments. But, my family and friends hated it, they couldn't believe people actually liked the movie.

It had some funny parts, but in general, it sucked. There was no plot, and the jokes were either hit or miss..

First, thanks for the search, for I was going to start a thread.
The movie was like an accident, didn't want to watch, but could not turn it off, almost hypnotic. I watched it a second time (a bit buzzed) and could not stop laughing.

This movie is funny by how sad those ppls lives are... if you're not in the mood for laughing a weird ppl, this movie could be a downer. I like Napoleon's character, the movie was kinda weird though...

The problem is that it is "Dry humor", which is very difficult to capture on film. Notice that the characters hold no expressions. She says to Pedro..."I like your hair today"...I am laughing just thinking about that.

I have made two films that sucked, this movie gives me hope. :thumbsup :thumbsup

This movie is a classic..hands down...it sucks you in....in time, it will be one of the classics! How can you not like this film? If you enjoy laughing then you'll like it!

I thought it was brilliantly funny, but I too was left feeling that it was just a set piece without any sort of dramatic power.

When Napolean's brother lets Lafondah do a makeover on him and he nasals to Napolean "Peeth out" I just about cried laughing. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh
