Anyone have a Roomba?

What do you think? Worth the $350?

How would you rate the power of the vacuum itself? In other words, if it didn't clean for you and you actually had to get off your ass, would you be happy with its performance?

This was asked just a month ago or so. If you like cool looking crop circle like patterns on your carpet get one. If you are looking for it to replace your everyday vacuum it is not going to cut it.

Omg the hubby bought me one a few years ago for xmas when they first came out, think it was used like 5 times most before it was dead and would no longer pick up. Bummer I know, lol. So, I would say No Way, hehehe.

Hugs,
Jen

We have a Roomba (got it about 6 months ago) and we like it. We have 2 cats and 2 dogs (medium hair critters) and it picks up the hair pretty well. It runs for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours on a charge and if it's close to the base when it's getting low, it docks itself to charge some more.

We run it about twice a week and have so since we got it.

The only knock is that the crud catcher is a bit small and must be emptied every time you use it.

Apparently I'm not the only one who likes it...

447 reviews and it got 4 starts. It's also $265 on Amazon

If you use it EVERY DAY and over a relatively small area (3 rooms max) it's great. The first time you use it, vacuum everything first. Breaking its virginity needs to be a gentle thing. I had mine downstairs, but with 4 dogs, it's being moved upstairs to keep the loft (after I vacuum and Swifer it) clean - hopefully. I may even confine it to just do under the bed.

I had one but was fragile and a bitch to clean if you have pets. Eventually it broke down for good and I threw it out. Cannot recommend.

This looks like a pass. I'll just get a new vac instead.

I bought one off Woot! recently for $140. Pretty cool, but it's only been running for a few weeks. I have run it every day so far, and will be happy if it lasts a year.

I have all hardwoods and area rugs. It does a good job getting the random crap, but it's not a vacuum substitute. Think of it as a "maintenance" tool that allows you to keep things looking somewhat tidy until you can break out the real vaccuum.
