rackspace ?

what are the opinions on rackspace?

they seem a bit pricey, but the 23/7 365 guaranteed uptime is appealing.

anybody have any horro stories or good stories about them?

thx,
vi

I use rackspace on 2 servers that I have used there for over 3 years. They are for mission crit projects, and yeah they are expensive. But, in 3 years never have I had downtime, and even when we integrated from RH8 to RHE this year they really made sure everything was ready for us.

If you do sign up, sign up using this link so I can make a little loot from it please

I use them for all my mission critical stuff. They're definitely not for galleries or tgp's but if you have something you can't afford downtime on, go with Rackspace.

Colo? forget it...with webair.com you get a full rack ($399 42U with 1 mbps included) in our state of the art facility in NYC, mad redundant in all aspects! Additionally, this includes PUD access (remote reboots), A 24 port cisco switch, KVM on all servers, and the best on call remote support around.

Sounds expensive aye? Well it's not =)

No hosting company can compete with Rackspace except in one area..cost. From their 24/7 phone in support to their 100% uptime gaurantee. There's a reason most of the top mainstream companies host there. When it's mission critical, it's all about Rackspace..period, end of story. They aren't cheap by any means, but it's the best hosting you can get.

Exactly. Mission critical, it's all about Rackspace...everything else, pick up a cheap deal from elsewhere.
