    Cleaner XL question

    For those of you who care to share information...

    1) Do you find you get better results from Video 9, V8 or MPEG-4 Video 3?

    2) Do you you set your slider to more smooth or sharp, or the default 85?

    I'm having a hard time getting my video as clean as it should be and wanted to pick some brains. I'm encoding between the 768k - and 1000k range but not happy with the results.

      WM9 definitely. I keep it default. If you are encoding at that rate you shouldn't be having any problems at all with WM9.

          That's what I thought but it's just not coming out right for some reason. I'm sure it's something totally obvious and I'm an idiot, but it never hurts to ask.

              The only way you should even be able to see a real difference between the two bitrates is if you are watching on an unusually big monitor. On standard monitors they should look similar.

                  I'm not trying to pick one over the other... I have just been encoding in that range in general.

                  It seems my 700k+ looks the same as many 399K videos as far as clarity.

                  I shoot with a GL2, turn it into an AVI before it hits Cleaner...

                  I'm just trying to make them look better, because I know there is a way.
