In reference to your post...very large percentage of handicap parking permits (in NY anyway) are issued to fat people for "difficulties resulting from obesity" and are accompanied by symptoms of shortness of breath, and weakness of joints due to weight. In plain english...Majority of fat people with handicap parking privliges have them because they are destroying their bodies by over eating...and we have to pay for that...Fuck them! These are the same poeple draining our economy with workman's comp because they cannot work. Save those parking permits for poeple with asthma, missing limbs and real handicaps. Or even pregnant women or moms with kids...Although the welfare mongers would take advantage of that one for sure...you know who you are!

What do you want next, a special lane on the highway for intoxicated drivers?
Or special bus service for those who lose their license for a DWI?

In the old days if you got fat you were a fucking outcast, tarred and feathered unless you were a productive member of society (or sideshow at a carnival) and only the strong survived. Our society keeps labelling everything some sort of "disease" like gambling or drug addiction. If you can't control yourself, I say drop dead so the rest of us can flourish instead of being dragged down in a soft "enabling" society.

First off, nobody is attacking fat people, we are saying that they are no better then us, and should not get special treatment.

If you want to bitch about people taking their toll on society, put smokers and drinkers on the list far above the fatties. Of course, I don't expect you to drink or smoke, you're one of the privileged few that happens to be perfect.

Stupid enough to know better. I can say with a great probility that many of them do infact have a placard due to obesity and nothing else, or at very least a health related problem caused by such obesity.
It personally annoys the living crap out of me to attempt to get a damn parking space and see countless obese people taking them up. Fuck often they "have" to park in such a parking place, even if there is a non handicapped one 2 spots down, which royally pisses me off since I need that extra side space that is in the handicapped spot for my chair to fit into, or to prevent someone from parking to close and preventing me from re-entering my vehicle.
To top it off, I get almost to the point of road rage when a generally obese person parks in one with his 4x4 that is jacked off the ground by 3 feet to the runner boards, climbs down out of their truck and then waddles off. If you can climb into and out of a jacked up truck you have no reason whatsofucking ever of parking in a handicapped spot.

Smokers are beat up enough on, hell they been fucked out of the majority of their rights already. As for drinkers, well if they do not drive while drunk I could give a rats ass about them.

I see it way more with young people than with obese people. Some dude with a broken arm. I don't even take my placard with me anymore, its a total waste and I can barely ever use it.

Up here it is primarly obese people, but we do get the occassional temporary gimp with full privledges.

As a matter of fact I do not drink or smoke...But I have no problem with smokers, drinkers long as they do not drive...this is america right? Smokers are persecuted like they have the fuckin black plague. If you don't like the smell you walk away, you don't pass a law that stops them from doing it because you don't like it.

I am not asking them to outlaw fat for christ sakes, all I am asking is that if you are overweight, have some common curtesy and stop thinking your special. From what I gather ray isnt saying that we should tar, feather and chastize all fat people in general. Just those who use thier obesity as a "jump in front of the line-free" card or use thier weight as an excuse to get the placard. My doctor, who I know personally, would never give anyone who was morbidly obese a handicapped placard just because they were overweight. They would have to have a legitimate reason to get one and in fact in the state of Arizona the law says:
An Authorized physician must attest in writing to the DMV that the "Physically disabled person" means a person who, as determined by a hospital administrator or authorized physician, meets any TWO of the following conditions:

(a) Cannot walk two hundred feet without stopping to rest.


(b) Cannot walk without the use of or assistance from any brace, cane, crutch, other person, prosthetic device, wheelchair or other assistive device.


(c) Is restricted by lung disease to such an extent that the person's forced respiratory, expiratory volume for one second, if measured by spirometry, is less than one liter, or the arterial oxygen tension is less than sixty mm/HG on room air at rest.


(d) Uses portable oxygen.


(e) Has a cardiac condition to the extent that the person's functional limitations are classified in severity as class III or class IV according to standards set by the American heart association.


(f) Is severely limited in his ability to walk due to an arthritic, neurological or orthopedic condition.

See I gotta even agree here..and thats odd for me. I publish an adult BBW magazine and run an adult BBW web site.
