it depends if you are talking about type ins only or the whole branding possibility

i would just buy it for the type in traffic and have holidays till the end of my life, for lensman the branding was probably more important, although I am still not sure if it's worth to pay more than a million to brand an affiliate program with a good domain, i mean look at all the other programs, they have average names, but some of them are bigger than adult.com

Personally i think the best branding and promotion lensman gets nowadays for his programs comes from GFY...

This is entirely subjective (domain value). While I don't know all the dollars and cents of the deal (confidentiality), I was at the former owner of adult.com's house a few days after he cut his deal with lensman - and he was definately not hurting about it. He'd been approached many times over the years regarding the sale of the domain, and this was the deal he finally took.

I'm sure he came out well, well ahead of his 35 dollar initial investment.
