Can anyone tell me why it is that some hosts require that you type in the www before your domain and other hosts do not?
http://www.mysite.com

as opposed to
http://mysite.com

its how its set up in your dns.

just tell them to send the *. to your default web root.

then anything.yourdomain.com will go to yourdomain.com

You also need to ask them to do a

ServerAlias *.domainname.com

in the apache config file
