    Do you "freak out" when you have a bad sales streak?

    It seems like every month I have a 1 or 2 week period where nothing seems to be going right and sales just plain suck. The same exact traffic will be pumping through, yet the "usual" sales that SHOULD be there just don't seem to be showing up. For whatever reason I'll start freaking out and create just plain STUPID plans and ideas that are absolutely ridiculous. Eventually I'll snap out of my panic and realize that the same cycle happens every month and soon the sales will start clicking the way they should again. It's annoying as hell afterwards looking back on it because I know how silly I was acting, yet at the same time I know damn well I'll be doing the same exact thing when the next cycle goes down.

    Anyone else do this? Or am I just nuts?

                              me too, I'm an analytical hypochondriac, so to speak. For instance, when i woke up this morning I had more sales than I normally do, so I figured I would hae a stellar day, butas it turned out I ended up with an average day. But that meant that through a few hours today my stats seemed to be down by looking at my early morning surge...

                                                          I've been in the busines long enough to see the patterns, but do get surprised sometimes...
                                                          I'm actually more concerned when I see an affiliate having a rough pay period as it means they'll be ICQing me and instead of asking what they can do to improve, they'll ask if we're shaving them...

                                                          although, sometimes even I don't know why an affiliate's traffic will be doing 1:200 for two weeks, then suddenly go to 1:1500....although that can sometimes mean there is TOO MUCH of the same traffic from the same places (those folks have already seen our sites)

                                                              That's just the nature of the web. Things go really well for a while then all of a sudden it feels like the rug has been pulled out from under you!

                                                              The only way to overcome that is volume. When you are getting CA Dave or LA Mike level clicks those bumps get a bit smoother.

First I try to blame it on everyone else. then i realise the above statement and try promoting something else. But sticking with a few good sponsors I've seen the fluctuations.
