Any old skool skaters out there?

Any old skool skaters here? I just found these pics on another site...brings back tons of Jr. High memories. Those were the days!!!

I had the original Caballero... I think I got it from Boneprone. I also had a Hosoi, a Lester, and a few other 1980's classic boards. And dont forget the Rat Bones wheels!! Slime Balls, and Madrid Fly's!!!

Anybody remember this ad?

I cant believ Tony Hawk is still around! He is like the God of the Skate world!

It brought back memories!

Tony Hawk and wathcing the tour just blew my mind.

wow! that takes me back...
hell i was about 4 when boards like that were around!

I had a powell peralta red dragon deck and I also had the Tony Hawke Skull deck

I splashed out and bought a new powell deck a couple of years back (for my 18th) , with Roaches - roaches still rock..

and I still have a pair of never worn vision street wears!

Shit I wish I wasn't a part time model, i'd go for a lash, unfortunately I can't afford to have broken bones these days....

Maybe I'll retire soon and take it back up.

hell yea back in '86/'88 i had a hosoi hammer nose and a jeff kendall board with some lame "thrasher" weels damn hard weels for vert and i was 100% street.
back in '95 i bought a powell candy wrapper and bones tribal wheels and gave it another try until i got married and somehow my skating wasn't compatible with my new family life. have you tried any new board? they don't make wheels so soft and the boards are a lot more lighter too. now i can only do virtual sk8 masturbation with thps and thps2 damn i want to go out and skate

Yes, unfortunately for me all the new boards are designed for street.

I prefer vert.

...and with the popularity of rollerblades, it's really hard to get on a ramp these days.

- Don't get me wrong, I don't have anythng against blades - I own a pair, I use them to excercise my ass- but there's nothing worse than a blader dropping in on you.

ahhh, shit...
now I really want to sk8 I'm not reading this thread ANY more...

I remember when the skaters would come by my house and do all those froofroo loopy loop things...and I'd get a big hammer and smash 'em in the kneecaps, then when they'd whine like pussies, I'd take their boards and smack them in the heads with 'em....

yikes, I slipped into Cliff Yablonski land there....

While skating was never my thing, I listened to a shitload of skate punk before I discovered the glory of hardcore.

I used to order all those Thrasher Magazine Comps with the likes of Drunk Injuns, Suicidal Tendencies, Spermbirds, Bad Brains, Septic Death, Slam... so sweet.

thanks exxxotica

not only brings back memories but got me to pull out the board and do a few 360's and some kick flips

Tony Alva board, tracker trucks and Kryptonic wheels (aaahhhh precision bearings)

not bad for a guy almost 40

don't think i can still stunt in the bowls and half pipes though

ahhh yeah.... the good ol' days.

My first deck was a Schmitt Stik... then on to various Santa Cruz, SMA (Santa Monica Airlines), Powell Peralta, etc.) Bullets and G-Bones for my wheels.

My first and last new school deck was a Plan B... Pat Duffy model. It was part of Plan B's Star Wars series. Boba Fet pimpin' it on the deck. Fearsome.

Ahh I remember the bearings!

Id change them every month!

NNB
GMN
Powell Bearings! Fuck those were spendy!

Remember the trucks brands??

Thunder (my favorite)
Trucker (real light graphite)
Independent (break em and get a new one snet to ya, and bragging rights)
Gull Wing (sucked and were heavy)

Were there any others?

And Vision Street wear. It was the rich skater boy gear! I wish I could afford it. I had to settle for cons.

I had the Caberello, A Mark Gonzelez, A Madrid Fly, a Block Head Jim Grey, and some other one I cant remember.

I aloways liked the Mark Gonzelez board.. Anyone remember what that one looked like?

And the wheels were softer back then.. Perfect ofr street. 85A was the best. I moved up to har wheels later 96a OJ3's and I remeber doing 20 foot 4 wheel slides. Those hard wheels would slide forever, and in rain forget about it!

But I miss those soft 85a Ratbones, or Madrid Flys, and the 92 A slime Balls!
