Seriously tho, see if you can sort it. Apologise for the noise, explain the situation, and ask if there's times that you can play it that are mutually convinient.

You should measure how loud the kit is while you are playing, and then find out if it is above or below the legal noise limit for your area.

If the bitch still complains, then you should also see if the buildings soundproofing is up to code.

Whats the average cost of sound proofing a room. Don't know the dimensions of the room off hand.. but I need to do this as well. Not sure if it'll help much with the bass guitar though, I'm sure itll still vibrate rooms next to me.

Damn! Some of you people are off. If you live in an apartment or rental you often have to deal with others or at very least someone elses rules. If you do not like the situation then you may move, simple as that.
I just know if the table was reversed and someone posted that their upstairs neighbor was making a thumping noise during the evening, people would be all over them and telling them what they would do to that person to make it stop.
Then those that suggested various acts of vandalism to the property are just plain fucked up. As a landlord myself I am very fucking glad I do not not rent to many of you.

Hey guys I OWN an apartment complex in which I live in as well. The renter above my TV room had a drum kit like this (I turned my second bedroom into a big screen theater/movie room). I can hear the pounding/thumping through the floor. IT'S FUCKING ANNOYING WHEN I'M WATCHING TV!!!

But they pay there rent on time and I have no other problems with them so I let it slide. Now if this was going on right above my bedroom then I would have evicted them right away. It would suck to try and take a nap during the day but be woken up by the thumping coming upstairs.

You guys all need to grow up a bit and realize the world doesn't revolve around you and you need to show some respect to others.

1. I did say I let it slide since they pay on time and the noise isn't above my bedroom.
2. My aparment building cost 7 figures and rents are super high and can only stay high if I keep the building running smooth...which means not allowing bullshit like this.
