I started in porn 3 years ago. I was at a point in my life about 8 months in to full time adult, that I was thinking about going back to school. My good friend and mentor Sleazydream said give it 6 more months and if you're not making at least 10k a month go back to school. In less than 3 months I was making 12k a month.

Now 2 years later I own more real estate than my father does and he took 30 years to accumulate his. Everytime I talk to my Dad he always mentions how proud of me he is and how he wishes he bought more real estate when he was younger.

This is meant to be a motivational post to you to follow your dreams and don't give up when the going gets tough. There is plenty of money still to be made in this industry and just because you didn't get in during the gold times doesn't mean you can't make a niche for yourself. Shit people were saying the gold rush was over 3 years ago when I got in, I'm sure in 3 years they will still be saying the same things! LOL!

If you go back to school and he is supporting you, he can claim you on his taxes as dependant. If you claim yourself to get deduction, a few months later IRS sends a letter out to all parties involved and he will find out.

I'd echo some of the other recent advice - get your name and identity removed from your porn business...use a company name (at least file a DBA, or better yet incorporate), and use a PO Box.

I hate to say it, but if you're using your real name on domain info, I think your dad has a point. Even DBAs are a matter of public record, and ten years from now maybe it will be extremely easy to google your personal identity from a ten-year-old company name. The records will last forever - who owned the sites, what was on them, and quite a few more details if any legal action arises. And that will limit more than public office. You'll be googleable by prospective dates, prospective employers, prospective inlaws, heck even your descendents generations from now if they get an inkling to research you. Porn is becoming more acceptable to younger Americans, but certainly not universally, and your association with it could be viewed negatively by quite a few people. I mean I have no idea what you want to do, but say you ultimately decide you want to teach 7th graders for a living. If your name is tied to the sites, odds are, your students and your community will eventually become aware of it. No legal consequence, but people will talk, and it will affect your career. Your future inlaws may find out about it and react negatively...it's easy to say "well fuck 'em if they don't like porn," but it sucks to have added stress like that in your life. Say your future wife has fertility problems and you want to adopt - it could look bad to church-based adoption agencies if it comes out in a background check for your application. Say you get divorced and are fighting for custody of your kids, and your wife brings up this history with a conservative anti-porn judge. It's easy to say "well fuck anyone who cares," but the association can follow you around, and it certainly can affect your life negatively, whether you think it ought to or not.

If you get out now, or at least shield your identity well from now on, you can at least pass it off as college-aged foolishness if it comes back to haunt you in ten years. I would say if you're going to continue in the biz, be honest with your dad, that you don't personally see anything wrong with porn, but also let him know that you're taking his "haunt you" warning seriously, and explain your intent to carefully shield your personal identity.

i pay for my own damn internet connection. you all think i'm so damn spoiled. i work 30 hours a week part time at a wholesale warehouse and goto school full time. i just work on sites in my free time to make some extra cash...but ive put so much work into building the sites that i dont wanna simply delete them because i could have them grow larger in the future. i'm sure most people's parents help out their kids financially while they're in school cuz there isnt much time to work if you're in school.

My daughter put herself thru UC Davis (in 3 years), lived off campus, bought herself a car, and graduated with money in the bank, all from babysitting.

She is now putting herself thru UCLA grad school, and still has money in the bank.

Very rarely has she needed any assistance. She has a free place to live, but prefers to buy her own groceries . . . all that she pays for herself.

Huh. Just read up on this. Apparently UC-everywhere still has free tuition for state residents, but they've added assloads of "fees" instead, which is essentially tuition, but they can't call it tuition because charging tuition is banned. Michigan, where I live, did the same when the state passed a "tuition freeze"...tuition stayed the same, but universities started piling on lots of mandatory fees to get around it.

This business is with risk, and if your ever challenged by any state in respect to what your doing...there are ramifications...but you were not real clear on what you were doing, [hardcore vs. softcore].

Folks forget the hardcore porn is not totally accepted everywhere and get a little relaxed in how they conduct themselves in this business.
