6 upgrades on a computer is quite a few upgrades to have. People are making it sound worse than it actually is. Like I say before, if I have to change 6 things on my computer, I'll just go buy a new one. |

Gates has gone too far with this one.... this XP shit is gonna fail big time with all but the most novice of users.

I just installed Win 98SE
Can anyone tell me if it's any good or not? After being used to 3.1 it is taking some getting used to. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/wink.gif ------------------ The All NEW www.PythonVideo.com Portal Page Python Dollar Machine Naughty Mail Pay by click Awesome Content |

Hey Bro, I hear what your saying, but you are in the small Elite group that build and constantly upgrade and alter your puter. This is all about biz and the almighty buck. XP maybe wasn't designed for the small percentage of people that fall into your category, it was designed for the Mass amount of puter uses that make up the rest of the puter user world. I will keep you posted on my own personal experiences with the new XP as I use it a bit more, but so far I think I like it http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif ------------------ Smile and Be Happy Lightning Free Hosting Gay Free Hosting Girls Host |
It's not just about upgrades bro... what if your network card craps? It happens all the time... What if you just wanna jam another RAM chip in there? Hell, what if you got a removeable hard disk bay? Is XP gonna misinterpret that stuff as upgrades? That's just basic maintenance man...
On a more positive note, for those who get duped into using such a piece of junk, give it a while... the crack teams are already workin' on the situation and there should be a patch or some other way around all of it other than spending the rest of your life on the phone to Microsuck. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/biggrin.gif |
Heck, I'm not a novice computer user here, I've been using computers for MANY years now, I'm actually on my 7th computer. Sure, for someone like you, maybe you upgrade all the time, but for most people, they don't require too many upgrades.
I bought my current computer almost 2 years ago. It's a 1-Ghz Athlon with 256 megs of ram, 40-gig HD, Geforce video card, 4X4X32 cd burner. I'm not Mr. Upgrade man where I upgrade this and that, now that it's getting dated, I'm just gonna go out in the next couple of months and buy another loaded down 2-ghz P4 system with the works, like I did when I bought this 2 years ago. Like I pointed out above, 6 upgrades is still a lot for most people and if it takes a minor inconvenience of a phone call to make to continue using an EXCELLENT operating system, then I'm gonna do it. Sure, it's kind of a pain in the ass what Microsoft did, BUT if you were in Bill Gate's shoes, I'm sure that you'd all do the same thing yourself. He's being fucked outta money from people, so he has to take measures like that to protect what he has. Anyone out there would do have made the same decision. For those who insist on using this XP junk OS, it has already been cracked. You can bypass the anti-piracy bullshit that Microsoft attempted to build into it. For how long it took Microsoft to write the anti-piracy code for it, it took no time at all to crack the code. (hackers never sleep) Sad though, really... that you need to crack your OS to make it useable.

if i found any of my friend using winXP, i will unplug his cdrom, floppy, mouse, and keyboard. Take off his sound card and one ram. Then push the power on. Now it's 6 changes. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/eek.gif |

I read some stuff about XP, about if if you have to reinstall it or something. Anyway you get something like 6 to 10 installs. If you change or add hardware it takes away from you r installs. MS calls it something other tan installs. Then you have to call MS and get a new code. Can see it now, they will start charging for the new codes. Working on computers I've run into problems were you have to install windows 3,4 or more times. So you will be on the phone getting new codes and just the phone bill could be high. NOPE am just now through running and testing win2k, but I prefer win98, so I'll most likely put win98 back on my other Puter. I don't need the latest and greatest. I can do my work just fine with 98 or 2k. Jim |
