Personal experience..
A "stock" Srpingfield 1911 out of the box is going to need work done to it.. It will tend to jam, not zero easily, the slide can easily "bite" and some other problems.. That way my experience with the Springfield 1911 standard... Now, when I got my Springfield 1911 "Operator" from their custom shop, MAN what a difference, that thing shoot straight as an arrow, right out of the box, no misfires, no ejection problems, nothing, just a flat out awesome gun.. Spend the extra $$ and get it from teh custom shop, you'll thank yourself in the long run... |

just the sound of the slide action will make any criminal with half a brain reconsider his actions |

You have the problem with over penetration of the walls, when awakened in the middle of the night, you're not in the right frame of mind to be aiming accurately. For home protection, I reccomend, a nice 12 guage ( Mossberg M3 tatical would be a good choice ) loaded with 00 buck... You don't have to worry about over penetration, and it's point and pull, plus the sound or chambering a round, is usually enough to make any bad guy shit his pants and leave a stain on your floor heading for the door.. |

I have a ruger p-89 9mm. I just got it the other day, I havent shot it yet though. I am thinking about getting a s&w .38 here pretty soon.
Yeah, Kansas carry laws suck. If I moved about two miles I would be in Missouri and could take an 8 hour class and legally carry concealed. |
that gun is a POS... get an HK like I got
|
btw I would never trust a 9mm to stop a human being

Heh, I'm in Canada..
Thought about the SA 1911, and the SigSauer 1911 GSR.. Ended upo getting the STI Trojan 1911... kicks ass :) |
Yeah.. 1911's are fun to customize....
as for the glocks.. they're cool, they're reliable.. but, i've never been able to accurately shoot them.. something about the shape just messes with me.. |
