12 years in school has been enough for me. I wouldn't mind taking single classes, just for myself. Psychology and human behavior would be one thing I would like to know more about

Thank the good old internet for that ;)

Eh, it matters a lot depending on what you do. Most mainstream jobs that I'm interested in require an MBA. (Product Management etc..., actually any manager or higher job in a software company)

Not to mention I was running my company on the side too, it was brutal. I did fail one course in my final semester which drove me absolutely insane having to stay an extra 4 months but I pulled through it

Yeah I usually go with a friend from work.. we tried to get in around 6 one time, but had to wait too damn long. So we try to sneak in as close to 5 as possible and get the seats right away

I'll be on lookout for you this upcoming Thursday, if you're there that is

If you're a group of 2 people, its not bad at all, as soon as you get more people, you can expect a 1 hour plus wait. I once went around 5 and saw all the tables already full with people just waiting until it turned 5, it was rather funny actually. Every table was full of people just waiting

Yup, it's usually packed. But we went with 4 people once (around 5-ish) and got the seats right away, probably cause the weather was pretty bad that day.
But then the other 2 guys went to Dooly's for about half an hour to park the car. We didn't know if they'd be back or not so gave up the seats... We all then ended up sitting outside when they came back.

That was the week before xmas right? I remember that night, weather was sooo bad and it was so empty. Walked right in and sat right away.

I dropped out of CS in Cegep (that's what's between univ and high school in Quebec) and can't be more glad I did.

From a business point of view, I have conducted hundreds of interviews and found that work experience is of far greater use than a degree and no experience. School for the most part teaches you methodology and theory, which on their own aren't really that useful.

I would never trade one year's work experience in this field for 2-3 years of school and a degree

Then again, this is a special industry. I believe school is necessary for many other fields. For example, if you wish to be a doctor, you can't really "learn on your own" and I'm certain you need a degree to find work. The opposite applies in our field, as things move so fast that schools are the ones falling behind.

Schools (except for highly specialized/expensive ones) will always be 3-5 years behind on technology.

As for 'but if I have a degree I'll get paid more', the companies who follow such policy are old-fashioned and traditional. Not a company I'd want to be at in any case. People shoudl be compensated on performance, not knowledge.
