I have a question about the passes . . . will there eventually be so many passed out that everyone will have them and it will become a matter of how many you have? Just need to know if I should continue my collection http://cherryredass.com/pcard.jpg |

I can't give everyone a Player Card or it will dilute the concept. Here's the full scoop on these cards. Player Cards are a way of giving VIP without an area. I've learned that getting rid of the ropes is the first step towards everyone being VIP. Private suites are different because only the 3 main sponsors can give those passes to their closest friends and associates, and they only get like 75 suite passes each. So the rest of the venue is all equal, until security sees the upstairs is at max, then they created all kinds of BS about not being able to get up there. Truth is, VIP is now done with Player Cards (sponsored by Epassporte). I gave the sponsors a way to invite guests through emailing them with a code. Once these guests are registered, we follow up with a secret link to sign up for their Players Card, using their unique ID (player code). Then we sent all registered guests and Card holders an email with a date and location to pick up their passes and cards. About half of the Player Cards actually picked them up, so they got stuck outside in the cold for longer then they should have. Most sponsors didn't even send the codes out because they wanted to wait to give them in person in Vegas. I disagree with that because they should have a good idea of their closest friends and biz associates, send them their code so they can get a Player Card. So, I will give a second issuing of Player Cards in the next week or so. We were prepared to issue 1000 Player Cards out of a 2000 capacity venue, half of the people should of had a Player Card to get in quicker. The first ones to get a Players Card will be the ones who didn't get inside due to the wait, or the ones who waited a while and got inside eventually. We'll be using Players Cards in our future parties, city to city for webmasters. Other webmaster events will give some sort of perks for having a Players Card, either free drinks, discounts or line priveldges at certain other parties. We'll see who wants to offer benefits to card holding members. The best thing about these cards are, they are determined by the paying sponsors of the party, not just me. So if a sponsor invited you before the other half of the venue was invited, you must be a VIP. It's a fair and balanced reward system determined by the sponsors. I'll try and make the sponsors happy by offering some more Player Codes for them to send out to their people who gave up outside or got frustrated with the wait. The Players Ball has a new tradition that will be recognized forever, Players Cards. Once the full 1000 cards are issued, I'll consider printing a smaller amount for next year. If the venue is 2000, I'll do only another 500 cards in gold. They both will get in right away, but card holding members will respect the platinum cards more because they got them first. If we have a 10,000 capacity venue next year, we'll issue about 2,000 cards. :pimp |

Sorry D$ the Players Ball just wont do in the afternoon....... it will be just a watered down version of the real thing :2 cents: |
Nichewealth had a great time at the players ball. I like the sound of your idea for future shows... But maybe on a bit smaller scale.
And KB... fuck I would love it if internext was at a different time that CES... I hate CES. Bang Bang - ! ! |

I haven't been to previous balls, except for San Diego, so I can't really compare, but I had a nice time. Didn't wait in line at all though, so I'm not sure what people could be complaining about. Maybe I just invoked some kind of Los Angeles mutant ability and went in a different door or something. High caliber artists for parties of less than 2000 are pretty common in LA. My favorite thing about living here. |

Ooh, I like that idea. I am not down with Florida in the summertime. Hot and sticky in a bad way. |
it's a shame soo many people come to knock it -- it's damn near impossible to pull off a perfect party. Every year it's better and better.
I dunno about the afternoon party. There definately weren't enough of them this year. But there is also a declining number of evening events. Gotta leave the afternoon's open for the AmateurBash !!!! =) |

D,
I've worked security before for nightclubs, and am fairly well known in the industry. Let me know if you need a hand next time, I can sincerely help out with the security problem. |

Actually, great idea, I might want to do a summer show in New Orleans. We had a great Players Ball at State Palace Theater back in 2000. |

Agreed, I could never understand why anyone would want to go to Miami in August. I can only guess that the rates are a lot cheaper then. |

We had a little confusion with the limo shuttles at Mandalay. We got there around midnight and the dude at the limo stand told us the limos had stopped running and that he heard the party had been cancelled because no one was there. We didn't believe it though and we called the Prana Lounge who confirmed the party was going strong. So we got into line for a cab as a limo pulled up. I saw people with passes getting in, so Brat and I hopped in. When we got to the party, we waited no more than 5 minutes at the door. We got in and had a wicked time. The service at the bar was incredibly slow (at one point, someone behind me joked that I was wearing a hat which made me invisible). Once the booze got flowing, the night was so much fun. Cypress Hill and Digital Underground were off the fucking hook. Just to be clear, the two minor problems we had with the night were entirely out of D-Money's control and we didn't let them affect our night whatsoever. Brat and I can definetly say that hands-down, The Player's Ball was the best party we've ever been to and we're looking forward to the next one! D$, you're a fucking superstar. Fuck the haters. |

I've heard people say this was the best party ever, that was my goal. It's hard to have a goal that seems so out of reach every year, but this year we finally topped the 2001 Snoop Dogg Players Ball. They're both great parties, but this one had the right mix of sponsors, artists & venue (minus security). Thanks for the positive feedback. :pimp |
Nothing but love for the both of you! I'll make sure I meet ya in the near future, kBizzle!
