It's cool but I agree too little space.

Also maybe I'm missing something but it seems to only play in random order? I suppose it's too small for a menu system so it by default has this random play "feature".

The pricetag could bit a little better and competitive...but hey its Apple so don't expect miracles ;)

If the 1GB had the $99 price tag it would make alot of diference..

Nice product tho...as for the Mac Mini...doesn't impress if you take in consideration what you get, the performance and the cost...more like a trendy gadget... (don't see anybody doing any actual work with only 512MB let alone 256MB...)

here's the deal; the ipod shuffle is a flash based player... it's for those who dont want to, or dont need to, shell out the extra for a hard drive based one like the mini or the proper..

nothing wrong with flash based memory.. I notice for example sandisk now go up to 8gb with their products (http://www.sandisk.com/), so I guess it has potential in future... it has no display though, but that design feature according to apple would compromise the product and probably knock up the cost. they will of course no doubt sell loads of these to people who just want to get their feet wet.

That thing looks cool.. gonna buy one.. gotta get rid of my old mp3 player first :/

50 small ipods

I have a full 40GB ipod and I own a lot of music... I can imagine getting a shuffle for running or working out when I want something really small and won't need to be changing songs, etc... The shuffle can be set to go in order of your playlist or shuffle through it, the thing isn't meant to be a replacement for an ipod or ipod mini... IMO
