That's the absolute worst one I've seen. Anyone in that wouldn't even know what hit them with the speed of the debris. I've read reports now that on some of the closer islands the water wall was 3 stores high which would be about 50 ft of water. Its impossible for anything to survive that volume of water at that velocity. You would be tumbled apart or crushed.

I went to the beach over the weekend just to look at the ocean. I stayed 2 minutes and then got a creepy feeling taking in the vastness of it and how vulnerable we all are and left right away.

Seen a video the other day of the first wave that came in. You could see the size of it in relation to other objects and people. They didnt stand a chance. It was a good thirty feet over everyone running off the beach as it came up behind them.

18 Million people die of starvation and malnutrition every year. This is about 3 times the amount of people killed by the 10 worst natural disasters in recorded human history.

And yet know one seems to care about this crisis that takes 200,000 children's lives every week because it doesn't make the news.

Go figure.

In order to change it, we would all have to give up a lot and I don't think any of us are willing to. Our standard of living would have to decrease sharply to balance the distribution of wealth and even then I don't know if the world is even able to sustain the world's current human population.

Go figure.

Lots of people do care about starvation and malnutrition deaths and donate. But, you are right if doesn't make the news, most people would rather donate to a newsworthy event for the publicity and others will look cheap for not giving tons of money.

KRL, you do have a way of putting things into perceptive.
