red cross

I'm sure a lot of webmasters here have donated to the red cross recently and/or given blood (including me).
This message is purely "for your information".

Bernadine Healy, the head of the American Red Cross, was forced to resign a couple of days ago because of disagreements with the governing board of the American Red Cross.

There were two primary areas of disagreement.

1. Dr. Healy wanted money raised as part of the Sept. 11 fund to be focused on recovery efforts in New York. The board considers the money raised to be part of the general fund, and wants the money to be available for any Red Cross projects at their discretion.

2. There are efforts within the international Red Cross to restrict aid to Israel. The countries which operate under the Red Crescent banner have been working hard to achieve this goal. Dr. Healy has voiced her strong disagreement with this anti-Israel policy. The board did not agree with her feelings on this issue.

Yea, I posted right after the attacks that I wouldn't give the Red Cross a dime.

They were in afganistan when this shit started and I'm sure that most of the money donated for the attacks will be used to feed and clothe those fuckers.

I heard several people trash talk the red cross, my barber was telling me that there were some tornados here in florida a while back and the red cross was trying to sell first aid kits to people who just lost their homes...

Say what you will about them, but I had two friends who lost their apartment to a massive fire. Guess who stepped in and gave them a place to sleep and some decent food to eat? Yep, you guessed it. The Red Cross. I had friends in Andover, Kansas when a tornado leveled the town. The Red Cross was there too. No charges for anything. They (The Red Cross) actually called me to let me know my friends were okay. I'll never forget the Red Cross in the event I ever do have some money to donate to an organization.

And yet there are still millions of American children that go to bed hungry while the red cross is spending billions of donated money to feed people in other countries.

I won't donate another dime to them. I will instead give my money to places that only help Americans.

ten: There are a lot of people outside the USA that needs money also...I think they are awsome to give them help...

Do not only think for your country, but for everyone that had unluck in the past...

My 2 cents

Rod, with all due respect... I don't give a flying fuck about starving people in other countries.

It's our money they are spending! Spend it on my people first. When there are no hungry Americans, then by all means throw other countries a bone.
