That´s what I was thinking, but what would convience them to do nothing?
Would it be US/UN pressure and would they let be satisfied with "nothing" and just shrugh their shoulders ?

The US would tell them not too and they would listen

India would attack to some degree but would most likely not use nucs. The US, perhaps by proxy, would stike Pakistan and ensure their facilities are of any benifit.

I think the real question would be the stability of the area. What religions nations would or would not interact with each other? We have seen many examples in the Gulf of countries that would not fight because another country was there.

Would there be UN action and what nations would send forces?

Just as important, what countries care about that area? The US only gets involved if the area effected benifits them (oil etc). THink of Sudan and other areas that the rest of the world don't give a rats ass about.

Also, if the US was to get invovled how would they do so? Currently they do not have the man power to get involved in another major conflict. WOuld they pull out of Iraq? Draft people? If they did get involved would another conuntry (hopefully Canada as we have a few bones to pick with the US ;) ) attack them while their forces are depleted?

Then again what about England and the former USSR? USSR was interested in that area at one time.
