It seems a big portion of GFY'ers are firefox users
Neat!
Jon
Yeah, last I checked Windows still came bundled with IE and most folks use Windows and are largely clueless about installing software. All this does is make developing web sites as much as a pain now as it was 8 years ago. Thanks fuckers
I switched a few weels ago, and for the most part I like it. But I fond that it does not always display photos in the threads, and other things like that.

Are you for real? Mozilla adhears to W3C standards and IE does not. If you're not coding your sites with community standards in mind and instead use propriatary technology and/or sloppy coding techniques (you know, all the errors that IE corrects for you... like not closing tags and such) then you get what you deserve.
If so many are surfing GFY with FF, then the dev crew better look into the problem of the top banner not showing 40%+ of the time (just a black rectangle)... thought i'd mention that
P.S. Since switching to FireFox months ago, not one shred of spyware on this PC. Nada. Zip. Zilch. It's reason enough to change.
If your sites were done in compliant html it wouldn't be an issue.
please. how dumb are you. IE does not adhear to w3c recommendations IE is notorious for interpreting your code how MS thinks you wanted to code it, not how HTML 4.01 compliant it is.

Microsoft lost enormous market share over the past couple of months.
Heads will roll soon I'm sure.
By this time next year Firefox will be the dominant browser if this trend continues.
Not as long as Windows ships with IE it won't...
This sounds like the belief (delusion?) a few years back that the Linux desktop would take over Windows. For 90% of computer users it would and won't happen in the near future for so many reasons - 1 big one being most pcs stills ship with Windows OS.
And for the same reason, Firefox is not going to convert the average web surfer unless it's bundled with the OS. Yeah right.

Considering new PC's (or freshly installed Windows) get infected within minutes of being connected and find their PC unusable... you may be surprised how fast "dumb" users will switch, mainly because they'll get their "skilled" friends/family to check shit out -- who will then install Firefox (or <insert other alternative here>).
Does Firefox load images slower than IE for anyone else?
Yes that's just one reason why I don't care for it. If I want to see web pages load like I'm on 56k dial-up I would be on 56K dial-up. Yeah I like how ESPn motion works ofireofx without having to download the software( thugh video quality is worse than on IE ) still you can't use the ESPN toolbar or google tool bar.
I tried it and it ranks amounst all the other free spyware programs(they don't remove all instances).I ran BPS and NOSPYX and they both found an additional 15 .Before without Firefox..I was getting an average of 30-50 instances everyday

Well isn't firefox FREE? Anyways like I said MS caught over 4000 from a friend's computer when Ad Aware which is amoung the best caught less than 500.
When firefox can loads images faster than molasses in January maybe I'll consider switching. Funny how when MS comes out with something the haters still hate and bitch. Before it was "Firefox blocks pop-ups", now IE blocls pop-ups. Then it was "FireFox blocks spyware". Now IE does too. Still the haters whine. Sometimes I think people bitch just to bitch by the way
Firefox phishing vulnerability discovered
A vulnerability in Firefox could make users of the open source browser more likely to fall for phishing scams.
The flaw in Mozilla Firefox 1.0, details of which were published by Secunia on Tuesday, allows malicious hackers to spoof the URL in the download dialog box which pops up when a Firefox user tries to download an item from a Web site. This flaw is caused by the dialog box incorrectly displaying long sub-domains and paths, which can be exploited to conceal the actual source of the download.............
