What browser type is "Gecko"? Is that firefox?

its the mozilla rendering engine. quite a few different browsers use it,

Yeah, it's the core mozilla engine... Netscape used to show up as Gecko a lot when it first came out with version 6.

My sig stats show 60% IE and 30% Firefox... Interesting to say the least.
