Why do sponsors use 2nd page clicks ?

I mean not when they count 1st page clicks and 2nd page clicks, I mean when they count 2nd page clicks only ?

Why do they do that ?

Is it just a simple move for more convenient shaving ?

Or they don't want to overload their servers ? (I think they could handle it)...

IMO counting second page hits is so futile in this day and age. They should know by now that we the affiliates track our hits we send to them. It's not like we don't know how many hits we're sending to the sponsors and need to rely on their stats....
