But you work from home.... WTF

Why is it that normal ppl think working from home is so fucking great?

I had an arguement with someone recently and he was bitching about his job. I was like yup man.. We all deal with stress from work. He was like, "But you work from home"...

Fuck that shit. These people all get to punch in and out of work each and every day with a steady paycheck in their hands at the end of the week. I have to "create" the green each month. They have no fucking clue about stress.

Fuck them.

Working at home isn't stress free but it's better than working in a cubicle surrounded by other people IMO.

What I do hate is when friends think that I can drop what I'm doing to go out with them or run errands because of the fact that I'm home alot.

as long as i've been in this biz, the Mr. just cant seem to understand that i am WORKING, not just fuckin around on the pc all day, everyday. like yesterday, i woke up & jumped online, he asked me to do laundry for him while he was playing cards with his buddys lol

uhhh HELLO, im fuckin workin!

i hate when people think that workin from home is so easy, fuck that shit. its stressful, i work 7 days a week, no medical benefits, no paid vacations (well, most of them are tax deducatable but you know what i mean ...).

People have a hard time understanding that this is a REAL job.

I know exactly what you are talking about .
People ( even those that live with me ) forget that just cause we work from home .. it is a job

I think the worst part is the kids , cause at first I though about how nice it is that thier daddies always home , but I have to tell them " daddies busy " about 3000 fucking times a day .
Not sure if its harder on them or me , I hate having to say it .. but hey Im at work !
My whole life my dad was never there always working , but he never once said " Im too busy " not sure what the kids feel about it , but sometimes I wish I couldnt see the disappointment in their eyes and you do when you're always at home .

What's worse is when people randomly stop over and you keep trying to tell them you're doing work but they still hang around.

Try having roommates. Every single time it's the same thing.

Roommate will stop cleaning, and doing anything around the house. reason? "Well... I go to work".

I worked at home for 4 years. You have to be very disciplined which I was not. Leaving the house and interacting with other people can help you be more productive.

My favorite is when you have work to do on the weekend, and people who only have weekends off and want to hang out don't understand and give you shit. They think because you work from home you should be able to take time off whenever THEY are available to hang out. Wrong.

Or my female housewife friends who have nothing better to do than yap on the phone all day. I swear I have to tell them to "call me later" all the time, I can't just stop what I am doing in the middle of the day to listen to boring tales of middle america.

Some people work best in a structured environment, while others thrive on their independence. I respect anyone who works from home, the stress and all the distractions - and despite all that to stay motivated!

i'm with you on this one, i work from home AND i have to go to a 'day' job...i don't have all that free time they talk about.

i do like doing my work without any clothes on though, so working from home has a couple benefits. ;)

The other day a friend told me "you are the hardest working person i know" And that was totally the coolest thing anyone could have ever said to me.. no one in the 7 years i have been self employed has ever realized how hard i work... everyone just has this idea that i lay around in piles of naked women and money all day.

Yep, been working from home for about 8 months now. Now i get phone calls from people looking for me to take them somewhere in the car all the time because they seem to think that because i am at home, i'm not doing shit.

I do prefer working at home, but like someone has already said, you have to make your own money to pay the bills n' shit, not get a paycheck handed to you every week. When you have a few bad weeks, it does get very stressfull...

What I love about working from home this time of year is the fact that I spent years in offices where people come in totally sick and trying to "tough it out" ... In the process getting pretty much everyone else sick as well and causing the sickness to linger for next to forever it seems in some offices.

The power of working with people over the internet for a living and 50% less colds being passed around.

i can understand why working from home could actauly be MORE stressful, you have no real esacpe from 'work' like you can run into your kitchen and then you realize only 3 rooms away is a pile of papers and ICQs from a bunch of dumbasses.
