Spam me with Load balancer prices

And please none of these ones that I can only use with your servers. I have servers all over the place so I need to be able to freely use it as I need. Redundancy is a must. Thanks

Apart from doing something EXTREMELY complicated and expensive, the only thing I can think of for servers which are not in the same location is DNS load balancing, which you could probably do yourself.

		 yeah pretty much.

the servers plug into the switch which is the load balancers. Check out the F5 3-DNS controllers. That will do what you are looking for but it is DNS based. Bad ass hardware! |

F5 is a hardware application, which you would need to have in every location where you have servers, what F5, and even Foundries(differant solution/brand) operate on global load balancing.

Global load balancing basically intercepts the DNS request and redirects to the location with the lowest ping/lowest traffic. |

You could, however, check out Ultra DNS's Directional DNS service:

Ultra Monkey is a linux based load balancing system, I've set one up before and it worked out nicely. Maybe it'll work for you too

And they are appliances that would have to sit in 1 location but 2 to be safe cause if the 1 location drops well - there goes your DNS. But to have them in EVERY location is not necessary. In today?s hosting market you can colo these things for $40 a month with minimal bandwidth. |
