Can someone help me out with....
Upgrading RAM? I installed the chip and on my System Properties general tab it tells me their is definitely more RAM. But it didn't do any of the following when I booted up.
Most systems will automatically recognize the memory upon bootup. Some machines may require you to run setup. Follow the steps below: Upon bootup your system will prompt you with a memory size mismatch error, or an invalid configuration error message to run your system's CMOS setup. Select the option that lets you enter your CMOS setup (Usually DEL, CTRL+ALT+ESC, or F2). Once you are in setup, you must save the settings your machine will automatically input for you by choosing either the Save Settings and Exit, or Write To CMOS options before exiting. (Usually either F10 or F4). Once the settings have been saved, your machine will reboot with the new configuration Does anyone know how I can configure this RAM to get the most out of it? I was hoping to boost up my system resources with this upgrade but it didn't do much of anything running the same programs before the upgrade. ------------------ )O( Osiris Trust me when I say you really need these! .::WIN A 27" FLAT SCREEN TV::. |

You mentioned that you hoped adding RAM would boost system resources, so I presume you're running Win 9x/ME.
I'm afraid available system resources have nothing to do with how much RAM you have installd, and everything to do with how crappy the Win 9x/ME line of 'operating' systems evolved out of Windows 3.0. On 9x/ME, system resources are finite, and it doesn't take too much, say Photoshop and a few IE windows, or if you really want to run low, Homesite, and you're in trouble. You could have 10 Gb of RAM and you'd still run out. The only way to move beyond it is to move beyond the bastard children of Windows 3 and use Win 2000 or XP, which don't have resource limits (when you run out of memory, you really have run out of memory and the operating system will let you know about it ![]() ------------------ ClickCash - Better than 1:99 and $50 for signing up Lightspeed Cash - Converts like crazy |

You're kidding about that windows update right? If not, that fucking sucks. The reason I even upgraded is because my DSL provider told me because my system resources were so low is the reason I kept getting disconnected!
Oscer, I would have waited bro, but I thought by the way the DSL Tardnitions I needed right away if I didn't want to have the problems anymore. BASTARDS! ------------------ )O( Osiris Trust me when I say you really need these! .::WIN A 27" FLAT SCREEN TV::. |
