Yeah, it's very possible to do 1000 sales in 2 weeks. 70+ sales a day if you have your own traffic, e-mail, webmasters, etc.. It isn't that many really.

Not saying I could release a site and within 2 weeks have a 1000 sales, but I know some people that could

If it's not hardly pushed, I assume by webmasters, then the site would have a solid inhouse source of traffic, like se's which can push 70+ sales a day or just dumb luck

if a site is hardly promoted, that means there is barely ANY promotion...if you have a mailer source making 1000 sales in 2 weeks, i would call that lots of promotion
