Holy SHIT!!!!! 4 of my hamsters RIPPED UP and KILLED Another!!

OMFG AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NASTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a fucking nasty ass sight... There was originally 5 of them, the mother and 4 babies... this morning/afternoon the mother was fighting with one of them, a black one that looked almost exactly like it... so tonight I go to change their cage cause its fucking reaking for some reason and wtf do I find..

The fucking hamster half eaten, torn up, spinal cord ripped out, body ripped to shreads, theres a fucking peice of meat left of what was a live hamster just 2 hours maybe less or more ago... FUCKING NASTY...

Ugh, Im getting rid of them all tonight. Throwing the cage out and letting the remaining 4 loose outside.

Fuck that, my girlfriend doesnt even want to see them anymore... damn, thats wack.. I dont remember even seeing the head of the hamster actually among its body parts, JESUS.

Unless you're breeding them, you really shouldn't keep them in the same cage. You might luck out and get some that manage to share space, but for the most part they should be solo. Especially certain types. I had two females do the same thing when I was in college. It doesn't even matter if they're from the same litter and kept together from birth.

They arnt really babies anymore, and theres only one of them thats dead, the 3 others are still alive.
Theyre like 1 month or more old now, pretty big...

I fucking bought the mother at the pet store but they neglected to inform me she was pregnant and like 4 days after i got her home she gave birth so its like WTF

My hamster is eating its babies, why?

Occasionally a female may eat her own babies. This is not common and there is usually a reason for this behaviour. The most common reason is the breeding of a very young female (under 4 months of age). The female is quite simply too immature to cope with rearing a litter and destroys the babies. This often happens with females that are pregnant when bought from a pet shop and only 5-10 weeks of age. Therefore it is always best to buy a female from a shop that has the males and females in separate cages as to buy a young pregnant female can be particularly distressing for young owners who find that their hamster gives birth and then proceeds to destroy the litter.

Other reasons which may cause a female to destroy her own litter are ill health of the babies (she will destroy sickly babies rather than waste effort trying to raise them), extremely large litter (she may reduce the litter size and only rear the number she feels she can cope with), disturbance (she may feel threatened by something nearby), poor condition or health of the female and interference (touching the babies and changing their scent may lead her to believe the babies are not her own but intruders to be killed).

If a female is destroying her litter it is best to leave her alone to settle and try not to disturb her too much. Feeding high protein foods such as cheese, scrambled egg, etc may help her to cope with rearing the litter. If she continues to destroy the litter fostering (see below) may have to be considered if possible.

Yeah, I read that Holly, but none of that describes my hamsters, they wernt really "babies" and Ive held them all plenty of times.

I just got rid of them, I wanted to drown them all but my gf wouldnt let me, so I took a plastic bag and put the remaining 4 in there, closed it up, went outside, opened it, and threw it into some bushes. Then I threw the entire cage out into the steel garbage bins outside.

Its 10PM, I for one am not going to clean their cage tonight with a ripped up hamster in there, then keep all those bastards in there over night, THEN put them in my CAR (ROFL NO WAY) then drive them to some animal shelter(waiting until it opens at 10AM) and try to get rid of them.

I wanted to kill them, but letting them go will probably make that happen anyways, or have a chance at life.

Theyre hardcore enough to kill someone, theyre hardcore enough for life on their own.

You should never own a pet till you know everything about that pet and what it needs to take care of it and now just throwing them out show's your not fit to be a pet owner. I saw a guy throwing out some baby dogs behind a store I use to work at and I beat his fucking ass lost my job but I dont give a fuck some people are just stupid.
