Help the tsunami victims here!

This was on another board, but since GFY has such a wide audience, I wanted to post it here as well.
Robb from Camz is in Thailand now and is going to be traveling down to the areas hardest hit and distributing supplies, food, water, medicine, and clothes to the people there. If you want to help out, please email dan at camz dot com with your pledge.
Thanks,
Chase

Here is the text from that post:
"Here is the latest on my plans to help the victims of the recent Tsunami that hit southern Thailand. In a few hours I leave for the effected areas down south, I have secured a vehicle and found places to purchase needed supplies. I will be going with a Thai friend, her name is Som (means "Oranges"..Thai's always have nice names). We will be purchasing water, food, simple medicine and basic clothes to hand out to people that have nothing.

If anyone wishes me to buy something on their behalf and hand it out, the process is very simple. Just email Dan @ CamZ.com and let him know how much you want to pledge. I will be checking in with him very regularly via phone and purchasing more supplies as he tells me pledges have been made. There is no big corporate machine that will eat up most of your donation, if you tell Dan you want to give $100 - then I will buy $100 worth of supplies on your behalf, right there and then, simple as that.

I am well aware that this will only make a miniscule dent in the overall situation, but at least it is something. And when it comes down to the faces on the few people we can help, I know it will be well worth this small effort. Please do not email me as I will be out of contact for a little while but instead email Dan @ CamZ.com with any questions and donations, and remember it does not matter if you want to offer $50 or $5000, what ever you wish to give will be a fantastic gift.

This is a time of year when most of the world is enjoying time with their families and kids are playing with all the gifts they received. As of right now 70,000 men, women and children do not have that luxury anymore.

Thank you. "

No offense, but wouldn't it just be easier (and w/o any problems) to donate directly to redcross.org?

Sounds true BUT.... i am in favour of a system where someone gets direct contact with hospitals/etc... a private person who can buy/arrange transportation/etc. That way you have a closer eye on what happens with the donations and it just feels better, probably just me

none taken.
I think the advantage here is twofold..
1) Like US said, there is a personal face...one of our own, an adult industry professional, is personally reaching out.
2) You know a lot of what you donate to charitable organizations goes to administrative costs and whatnot. This way, every penny you pledge is going directly to the people who need it and isn't paying for double-layered Charmin in the President's bathroom, if you know what I mean, lol.

Robb is a real good guy, met him last year. This is not suprising that he would do something amazing like this.
I donated to Red Cross already so I am tapped.

this is a human crisis and even if people only donoated $5 or $10 dollars...that can add up to a huge amount if enough people do so

It would be easier but may not be as fast or effective. Robb is heading out tonight he has a couple of trucks and will be purchasing as much needed supplies as he can and will be taking it directly to them.

Hi would like to thank all of you that have pledged to help.

I will send you all an e-mail and try figure it all out. I will be wiring the money to Robb today and we will work out the rest later.

Robb can tell you more about the people that you all are helping more so then I can. But from listening to Robb and others that have visited there in the last year It sounds like they are a kind, caring people who deserve a hand. The "land of smiles" is not smiling at the moment and knowing Robb he will make that money stretch for all it can bring to the good people of Thailand.

I have asked him to be sure and take pictures to show what we all have contributed to and I am sure he will share with us the experience.

Just to update everyone. Robb has his first van load full of supplies and is going to be handing them out within the hour. He said he is taking tons of pics and will have that and tell everyone of the experience asap.

He send his best and thanks for all of the support..

Personally he sounds great. He has not seen much devastation yet so his spirits are still very high. I am sure it is going to be ruff when he gets there and actually sees the effects and the death that has surrounded this area.

on the plane there was many rescue workers from all over the world. SO it was filled with entertainers and rescue workers and one porn producer from America

Thanks again for all that you have done. It is going to good use.

Yea that is what he is most worried about. I do not think he is ready for it but he really wanted to help. He has really fallen for the country and the people there over the last year he has lived there. It is going to be hard for sure.. Thanks for the encouraging words I will make sure and convey to him the appreciation that is being sent to him and for what he is doing.

Dan, please do. I will do anything I can to help as well. If you need a link to a donation site that he is working on my page just ask..... I'll front page that shit. He needs to be braced for the horror ahead. I'm an EMT and I can't imagine even what he's walking into.....

Excellent stuff and well done!!!!

Aiding the people hit by this disaster is probably THE most meaningful thing anyone could do since net commerce started and there was an adult biz on the net.

We are doing a similar thing here (tho not actually going there) and not restricted to the adult biz - loads more people are involved.

Again.. damned well done! There are plenty who will appreciate that!!! :-)

Thanks for bumping this..totally missed the post till now.
Has he got the trucks..and where is his location right now?
It seems like a lot of those areas are going to be impassable by truck..only be able to walk.

But great effort!

This is as worthy as it gets, no matter how it gets to them. Whether it's direct through someone we know or through an organised agency...it matters not.

Hard to know exactly what to do with the sheer numbers of deaths being reported.

Do you have a way of accepting donations from the public at large?
Maybe a paypal link or something similar?
If so let me know at [email protected] and I will put that at the top of the donation list on http://www.agentcash.com/tsunami/

It's nice to know all all donations are going to help the cause and not pay board members of some non-profit.

Maybe a paypal link or something similar?
If so let me know at [email protected] and I will put that at the top of the donation list on http://www.agentcash.com/tsunami/

It's nice to know all all donations are going to help the cause and not pay board members of some non-profit.
I am not part of the Camz admin, so I don't have a button or anything, but I know they have a Paypal account for this email addy: [email protected]
Thank you very much!
