i downloaded a macromedia studio mx suite via bt and now i am lost at how to run the installer script. when trying to execute the file, it says the file is not associated to any application. any pointers? thanks oh and happy new year from a mac newb ![]() |

I really do dislike Macs; I mean, I really do? with one exception? Final Cut Pro on the Mac, that?s alright.

It is a license issue. Macromedia has a very tight licensing issue going on, if you check the online user forums there is a patch that might work.

It sounds like you downloaded an .exe file. Macintosh can't run .exe files.

Why don't you just double click it in the gui? Why are you using terminal? Make sure you downloaded the Mac installer and not the PC installer. It shouldn't be that hard...

select the file in finder, press Apple+I, the information panel should pop up.
expand the second arrow, there must be the 'real' name of the file with its extension. Post the info here ![]() |

actually I take that back, it's not a .dmg file... I made that up and changed it myself when trying to fuck around with it to get it to work.
One other file is a "Unix Executable File"... goddamn shit. I'll just probably buy the software. |

in the get info box, go to Open With and seleect 'DiskImageMounter'.. if that doesn't work your file might be corrupted
