The most I have seen was $35 + 30% ($12) on each rebill from CONVERSIONCASH . Not bad though

I wasa drunk when posting, couldn't type.

I think the industry need a new level of payouts, and one sponser needs to grab it by the horns and give $40 per signup (including free trials) and the 50% recurring every month.

Does conversion cash pay $35 on trials too?

You'll stop laughing when I have a program that does that, and everyone will signup with me!

I have figured out how to make it profitable too while still only charging $45 a month to surfers which isn't too high.

Good Luck! I would be interested to see how you figure this to work?

Here's my quick math of why this won't work:

I send 100 sign-ups:

I get $4000 for them, plus 50% so another $250 you get $250 less cc charges, so you make $213.
So, from the trial you've paid out $4250 and
made $213.

Then, lets say it converts well at 50%, which is a more than fair number when a full membership is $49.95 So, you pay me another $1250 and you make $875(your 50% plus CC fees)

So, now you have paid me, $5500 and you have made $1088.

So, then lets say 80%(again a fair number at 49.95) for the 2nd month. 40x$50=$2000

That's now another $1000 for me and another $850 for you.

After the 2nd month, you've paid out $6500 and made just $1938...

Month 3 80% go for the 3rd month, so that's 32 members which brings in $1600 of which $800 in mine and $680 is yours.

So, after three months which is the average membership, you have made $2618 and paid out $7300. That doesn't include hosting, content, etc...

Those remaining 32 members would have to ALL stay members for 14mo. in order for you to break even and that will never happen, at the very least a few of their cards will expire in that time.

Any Questions?

ok, so I made $2618 on you after 3 months. Now if I have 1000 of you, I just made $2,618,000 after 3 months. I use the $5 per signup to pay for hosting and content, then the rest of the mony on the recurring is profit, minus the $5.

PLUS I have the member section setup similar to TrafficCash's sites which is 50% good content and 50% upsells to other programs including phonesex, dvds, and live video upsells.

With the amount of people signing up for this within a few months, the sheer volume will make me stinkin rich.

I will laugh all the way to the bank!!!

LOL, I'm glad Wizzo isn't in charge of the math at Adult.com - otherwise, the webmaster's share would probably be like 35%. But Wizzo's calculations still do prove a point. The owner's share of the paysite's revenue is $2618 and that is not even close to enough to covering the sign-up bonuses s/he owes ($4000). However, according to Wizzo's math, you probably could make a $30/sign-up + 50% recurring program profitable but the conversions from trial to sign-up at that price plus the retention required to make it profitable is just not realistic.

The revenue generated by the site is $5918 and the amount owed to webmasters is $7300. Your conclusion implies that the owner has to pay out the $7300 from $2618. If this was the case, all programs offering anything over 45% recurring (assuming the owner is responsible for the processing fees) could not be profitable.

Your right...the webmaster does have to payout the $4000 upfront, which is where I messed up and carried that over which means the payout would be $7300 and the profit would $5600 or so...

Also, the retention #s were quite generous as you pointed out ealier. I think it would be a great program except the math doesn't make it possible to be profitable.

ok, so if I don't pay for free trials, it all works out. I WILL make $5 per signup, and then 50% on the recurring which will make me millions.

I guess there could be an optional pay $40 per trial at the usual flat rate to cover the people smart enough to know trials convert at about 40%.

So $40 plus 50% per active member, OR $40 flat per trial.

OR, I could always configure the signup page to make all trials join another member site sponsor like ARS or something, partner with them and have them give me $5 per trial and pay my webmasters on the trial?

That could work too.

ah, but let's not forget chargebacks, cheating (nevermind the 50% recur, the carders will come out and hit ya up for the $40 per signup) and the like. With that many members, you'll surely need more hosting and bigger boxes and more content (people are not going to recur at $49.95 unless you have an assload of content).

One way this works...you redirect every 5th hit to a program that pays you $35 per join, then you pop an entrance console in FRONT of the target site, then don't pay on checks, dialers or 900 billing and of course redirect the webtv users and maybe you can make it ;)))

Hey Nimrod,

Do you have ANY idea how hard it is to run a successful program?

I'm not going to go into the many many other factors that go along with running a wm program, but chargebacks, refunds, lawsuits, scam artiss, advertising, content, employees, hosting etc... that shit adds up.

Not to mention that launching a persignup program is extremely expensive to start.

If I sent you 1000 signups today, unless you're already loaded (which i'm fairly confident isn't the case) you would immediately owe me $40,000 dollars. Now assume that you are chaging 2.95 for a 3 day trial & some kind of special promo for buying a full membership upfront (about 10% will buy that instead of the trial if they see value)... so now you've got 100 people that bought a full membership ($4995.00) and the remainig 900 bought trials ($2655.00)..

Now lets be realistic & assume about 50% of the trials stay past the 3 day mark (quite realistic for such an expensive monthly) & get rebilled. So now 450 members get dinged the 49.95 ($22,477.50....

So now lets pause & reflect.

Your first 1 week of being in business grossed you $30,127.50 but you owe me $40,000... so you're now negative $9,873.00.

Lets assume that you have assloads of cash sitting around & can handle that.... Month 2 rolls around & now about 70% of your members (a gracious number given the price of the membership) rebill. So you now have 385 members getting rebilled $19,230. You owe me half of that. So you now owe me $9,615.38 from the rebills and you get to keep the remainig $9,615.38... but don't forget that you're negative $9873.00 already... so now you're STILL negative $257.62.

Pause... reflect.

Now with an industy average of about 1.87 months retention you'll get about 50% of those members to rebill again next month... so 193 rebills go through (in a perfect world) and $9640.35 comes in. You now have to pay me half of that... so you write me a check for $4820.18 and you keep the remainig $4820.18.. but you still had -$257.62 from earlier.

So now your total gross profit is $4562.55.

Don't forget that the billing company takes 11% of that. So since you're running the program you need to eat those costs... coming out to a total of 11% of $58997.85... so the billing company gets $6489.76 which *gasp* puts you in the hole again for $1927.21.

Pause.. Reflect. You're in debt buddy & you still haven't paid your host or your content providers or even factored in the fact that you WILL see chargebacks, refunds and at least a 5% reserve.

So to answer your question... that silence is everybody trying to keep from laughing.

And no.. we're not laughing with you... we're laughing at you.

Hooper,
Although alot of what you said maybe true, you fucked up in a couple spots.

#1 I have my own merchant account, and I do run several paysites, I lose less than 5% on processing.

#2
Yes the first few months maybe a loss, but I DO have an assload of cash lying around, in my safe at home, in my bank accountS, in several offshore accounts, and I have alot of people that want to give me another assload of money to get something new started.

#3
You have no idea how much extra moneey sponsor programs make for upselling their members services like phonesex, videos, DVD, toys, other member programs, selling email lists etc... When was the last time you peeped inside a TrafficCash Gold site? almost the whole membership section is an upsell to something else. Of course this effect rebill percent, and that is why these mega sites average member retentions at 1.85 months. The sooner they get em signed up on another site or program, the sooner they get to keep more money by not for example having to pay rebills.

These guys have done the math, they make more money upselling their members to other services than trying to keep them for more than 2 months.

So Hooper, and all you other Math proffesors, you can do the math on the numbers that are obvious (member rebills and initial sales) but you haven't got a clue what are all the correct variables are to do the math on.

Yes you lose money at first, but you make a fuckload of cash later. Same with any of the handful of successful partner programs out there. Most of these guys lost 100's of thousands of dollars trying to get their programs working, but when they got a winner, they laughed at all the "naysayers" like you. I know of several people who have invested and lost over $100,000 only to have made 10x that back a year later with a revamped program.

I have 3 DVD players by the way, but one of them broke. Need to replace it and circuit city is out. Don't like it?

Go fuck yourself, let me show you how!yourself:

And while I'm no math professor, I do have a calculator and access to quite a bit of real information to plug in...
