There was a couple this morning on CNN that did that. They knew something was wrong but the wave didn't harm them that deep. They did do an emergency rapid ascent to get back to the surface to see what was happening.
Then they saw the devastation and were in complete disbelief that it hadn't impacted them down below.

Unbelievable. I am amazed that they even survived under the water. You would think it would be hell under the water..but they went back in for another dive so it couldn't have been that bad.
