My dog generally eats once a day
He's a male cocker and he's 1.5yrs. I usted to feed him twice a day. A few times, he would leave the food and I would take it up after 30 minutes or so. Yesterday, I didn't feed him in the morning but he ate everything for dinner. So this morning; I put food out and he walked away. How can he get thru the day only eating 2 scoops of puppy chow? He's going to the groomers tomorrow. That lil fucker is spoiled, I can imagine what I'll be like when I have kids.

Don't worry about it, i have a dalmatian 2.5 years old and he usually eats 2 times a day but quite small meals. You'd expect him to eat loads, and constantly beg for more but he's quite a gentleman.
What really amazes me is that say for example you put the food in his bowl about 30 mins before the usual time, or even 2 hours before that, he will not even smell his food!!! Its really weird, but he has exact times that he eats and wont touch any food unless its time to eat. Anyway don't worry about the poochy ![]()

I wouldn't worry about it...My golden used to do the same thing. We got a new dog that would eat her self to death if we let her, and now the golden chomps down all her food. Dogs are funny!!!

My shih tzu primarily eats once a day in the evening. She has food available all day, but it sits until after 6 or 7 pm, then she usually eats everything in the dish.

If you have a dog why the hell would you want kids? I hear they really cramp your lifestyle.

aww he's so cute
![]() i wouldn't worry about him only eating once a day, most dogs only eat once a day. Some will eat a little at a time and others will eat it all at once. If you're really concerned just ask your vet they'll tell you exactly how much you should feed him. |

i'd feed him twice a day but smaller amounts if he is not eating all of what you put out. there's nothing worse than being hungry. i'd much rather eat a few small meals a day than just 1 big one and have to wait 24 hours till the next.
some dogs are strange though. you can just fill the bowl and they'll eat when they want. i have a lab and he would eat the whole bag of food if i put it out for him.
