You cannot pay for anything in US dollars here. First you must exchange it into Australian currency.

Have you travelled anywhere?

let me clear this up. re-reading this i can see that i wasnt specific.

of course other nations money is accepeted in other countries.

i was speaking as if the money wasnt exchanged, would it still be accpeted and the answer is yes, moreso than other countries currencys.

im speaking from experince of traveling europe and having several different countries currency's and not having a specific countries currency. the american currency was accepted/preferred over the others i had which were german, english/uk and dutch.

some countries in europe just wanted american and not their own.

same went for the caribbean islands, mexico, central america and south america.

I will repeat myself because you clearly aren't listening:

US dollars are not legal tender in Australia. Never have been and never will be. US dollars are worthless here until they are exchanged into Australian currency.

You cannot walk into a shop in Australia and pay for things with US currency. Businesses here do not accept it.

Do you get it?

You claimed that US currency is accepted in every country in the world, implying that it is legal tender in every country.

If I found someone in the US who would accept Australian currency would that make it legal tender in the US? Of course not.

You are wrong on this one. That's all there is to it.

PS In my recent travels to Eastern Europe I found people more willing to accept the Euro than US dollars.

god damn your as thick as a brick mate.

i never calimed that american money was accepted as legal tender anywhere - thats your own misunderstanding -

i said american money is accepted in every country. period.

heres an analogy --- I liken american money to gold.

understand the analogy?

Do you get that or are you going to argue that ones paper and the other is a mineral?

hope this helps.

No, you're wrong. It is not accepted in Australia. Nor is it accepted in most of the countries I've travelled to... until you change it into local currency.

Now who's as thick as a brick?

P.S. I've travelled to almost 30 countries and no more than half a dozen accepted US currency in the shops.

I live in Canada (the 51st state) and I still can't use my US$$$ in a lot of places...and when I can use it no one gives me what the banks do. So your blanket statement: "american money is accepted in every country. period." is FALSE.

Just admit you're a dumbfuck and I'll forgive you jonesy

Yeha, we abused our power in World War I, World War II, and when we rebuilt Japan and Germany. I guess you've never heard about checks and balances in that little document called the Constitution, moron...
