Check out what domains they register too... Registering that name, has nothing to do with legality, and neither will the use of that domain, if its in a country that permits it.

I don't care what reason they might give (not receiving spam, or whatever), using a fake name is dishonest and an attempt to hide from those who might want to talk to them about, for example, abusing copyright, running child porn, or whatever. When I discover it, I report it to their registrar, since this is against most (if not all) registar's rules. Why bother taking information if it isn't expected to be 100% accurate?
