Just saw "Open Water": complete trash

One of the worst films I've ever seen, so bad I laughed out loud and woke my girlfriend up (she was smart, passed out early).

Roger Ebert, normally sensible, must have been on crack when he reviewed it, as he liked the film and gave it two thumbs up. There were lots of other glowing reviews.

Should have known when the guy at the video store look at me nervously and said "Um, people either like it or hate it."

I think I'll give it a watch anyway. I've heard really mixed opinions.

One reviewer summed it up perfectly:

"I just wanted the sharks to eat them already and put me out of my misery"

I felt it was overhyped, but it wasn't too bad
it had more impact in a theater than on DVD, IMHO.

Well, I will be a loner in this thread it looks like, I thought it was a great movie. Take it for what it is, a very low budget movie based on a true story.

I liked it. I don't know how you guys think the production value was gonna be high, it was a totally indy movie, shot, directed, and edited by one guy. I agree that the acting was pretty shady, but for the most part it was enjoyable.
