All thing being equal the odds of someone dying one month before or after Christmas is 1 in 6 deaths. Just like it is durring any other 2 month stretch durring the year.

Really very sorry to hear that Sleazy.

I was told that cold weather causes some people to be pushed over the edge. When I was planning the stuff for Marc's funeral I was told it would be hard to get a date because it was the busy season.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

My grandfather also died on Christmas day....He was the only proper male role model i had growing up. He was a great man.

*hugs* my grandma died earlier this year, i'm sorry for your loss.

i think the holiday mortality rate has something to do with additional accidents/suicide due to alcohol/depression around that time. also, in older people, perhaps having made it through to the end of another year leaves them with a sense that it's 'okay' to carry on to whatever next.
