A "find a musician" feature for bands looking for likeminded musicians.. Contests, Rating systems, Internet radio, etc...

Thanks for the compliment on the domains and the tips. It is always nice to hear ideas and thoughts from other people.
The direction we are heading in will make Band.com a destination portal but with music as the driving niche. In other words we want to become peoples start page just like a yahoo.com, Msn.com etc. Our goal is to provide all the services these portals have but they will be aimed at a person who lives and breathes music.
Content is king here and will be the make or break factor in our survival. as you said most of the ideas have and are being done somewhere else. The one thing I don't see is a one stop shop where all the ideas are seamlessly put together.
We are putting together all the pieces in the form of a skeleton and I will post screen shots for suggestions on the design direction we are headed in. Iknow how much everyone likes to add their :2 cents: (not directed at you however)
Band.com will be the first project in line and after things get rolling we will be moving on to production.com
Our aim with Production.com is to be a resource site for film makers and music producers....more details to follow :)
If anyone has an input please send me you thoughts, comments, and suggestions. I would love to hear them. In early 2005 we are moving our base of operations back to NYC where I have spent most of my young adult life. We hope to have our offices in Dumbo. If anyone is looking for a job or knows someone that could have them send me an e-mail.
