and set these settings:

browser.turbo.enabled = TRUE
browser.xul.error_pages.enabled = TRUE
nglayout.initialpaint.delay = 0
network.http.max-connections = 48
network.http.max-connections-per-server = 16

Excellent extensions:

Some servers will auto block you for doing bullshit like that. as they should,

Your basically hammering the HTTPD for no reason, other than to save yourself a fraction of a second.

somthing like 6 isnt really all that bad. But 16 is just overkill and if you hit a page with lots of images will make you take up connections equivilant to 4 users.

Sorry but some of us here are actually webmasters (surprise surprise) who have to install modules and firewalls to deal with SURFERS like you hammering our high traffic servers with redicuous max conn. per server settings.
