                                                              There's never really such thing as "full protection" when you're climibing. Being belayed via a climbing harness is nowhere near full protection.
                                                              Good protection is 2 ropes, shunts, ascenders, and a chest harness.
                                                              Full protection is called an elevator.

                                                              Incidently, to spread the spirit of Christmas last night, I went for a little climb / abseil myself ->
                                                              The mark was / is a bridge, not that tall, but tall enough. Wanted to string some lights on the cross girder. Tapped power from the streetlights, clibmed to the top fo the bridge and abseiled to the beam, installed the lights, and called it a night.

                                                              Lasted 2 nights, and a big fucken storm so far :D

Why would any self respecting man who is married with kid(s) do something so fool hardy? If he was single I could understand a little more. Anybody know how many times he has been arrested and why he is still married?

                                                                              And in this context w/ his skills, I don't know how different the risks would be to, say driving a racing car, or any other extreme sport.
