ASACP to allow TGPs to join .......

wow, i just saw this.....

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
December 21, 2004 CONTACT: Joan Irvine,
Executive Director
ASACP
PHONE: 323 965-1400

[email protected]

http://www.asacp.org

ASACP WORKS WITH TGP LEADERS TO DEVELOP BEST PRACTICES

Los Angeles - (December 21, 2004) ? ASACP (asacp.org) is the organization that helps the adult site industry make a difference in the battle against child pornography. In addition, ASACP provides a self-regulatory vehicle for its members through a Code of Ethics that promotes the protection of children through responsible, professional business practices http://www.asacp.org/bestpractices.html.

ASACP in conjunction with industry leaders have developed Best Practices (BP) for various segments of the industry. Until recently, BPs were only available to Search Engines/Directories, Billing companies and Affiliate programs. Through working with TGP leaders, ASACP is pleased to announce its BP for the TGP segment.

ASACP?s Best Practices for TGPs

?Comply with relevant ASACP Code of Ethics (http://asacp.org/membership.html).
?On Index (warning) page: include all disclaimers, age verification, etc and exclude explicit images to prevent children from unknowingly viewing adult material.
?Know your link partners
oNo automatic submissions
oAll submissions and galleries verified by human
oVisually review all pay sites promoted through free hosted galleries
? Do not link to galleries with content that is or appears to be under 18
?ASACP wishes to thank Scott Hjorleifson, Sleazy Dream, and Mark Hurson, Gallery Traffic Services, for working with the ASACP Advisory Council and the leaders in the TGP segment to obtain input and feedback. As a result of having these new BP, ASACP now can accept membership applications from TGP companies. ?ASACP is pleased to announce that effective January 1st Sleazy Dreams and Gallery Traffic Services will join the other industry leaders in their support of ASACP by becoming Sponsors,? said, Joan Irvine, executive director, ASACP.
Gallery Traffic Service sells traffic and advertising on some of the largest TGP/MGP websites in the world! We are proudly Canadian with an International client base. "Here at Gallery Traffic Service we take pride in offering impeccable customer service and operating at the highest level of legal and moral standards. We are thrilled to join the cause against Child Pornography by supporting ASACP," said Mark Hurson.

?ASACP is an organization that I believe any responsible Adult Company should get behind. To put it simply, they do good. ASACP stands for something we all should believe in - stopping child pornography. Think about it - even if they stop just ONE pedophile and save JUST ONE child from being molested, isn't that worth supporting!? said Scott Hjorleifson, SleazyDream.com.

If you are one of the more than 5700 sites that take a stand against child pornography by displaying the ASACP logo, but are not a Sponsor, Approved Member or recently signed up Supporter, please visit the following page to join today - http://asacp.com/membership_form.html

For further information visit the ASACP site http://www.asacp.org or contact Joan Irvine, [email protected]

Maybe it's me but I don't see any benefit to be a member of it. If the feds want to take you down for some bullshit, an ASACP membership won't take the heat off of you.

True enough.

But ASACP membership isnt about protecting yourself, its about protecting the kids and getting rid of CP.

I do however feel this is more of a political move given recent events surrounding the ASACP board of directors and recent drama but hey, im a cynic ;)

Regards,

Lee

Well, if this is the end result of Gary taking a walk, well, I for one am glad he walked.

if TGP owners want to be compliant, well, all those autosubmitter / auto lister / auto content programs are pretty much done for. All those CJ shave force with any one who sends hits is toast. All those single page wonder sites are toast (you will need a warning / enter page).

It suggests a huge change in the business model.

A ton of link sites and trading partners require no warning page. This would be some major change.

We trade traffic. Are you willing to put up with your surfers being directed to a warning page before the actual tgp?

Other than the warning page I think I comply now.

Not sure a warning page will do much? Take sleazydream.com for example. Not a real big warning there. Is this what ASACP has in mind?

judging from the above i can see several benefits. They should make it more visible in their site. Any idea how asacp monitors bad "affiliates" and can save you from trouble?

After all the controversy, I think Sleazy is damaged goods and for the good of ASACP think he should step down. Replace that name with Shemp and I would have a lot more confidence in the effort.

Even before the blowup with Choker, we were all just morons and idiots to Sleazy to be played as sheep. I really don?t think he speaks for the majority of TGP owners and he certainly does not have my respect or confidence.

Assume you are going to require the page for your trades then?

This will be a major change for the industry.

Have PICs tags up now. That means parent control software will work.

An open forum of TGP owners to hash out details, ask questions and get a well defined set of rules that most will agree too makes sense. In other words public discussion and input rather than rules being imposed by a small committee is important. Even if you know it will be impossible to get all to agree. At least all would have a chance to express opinions.
