If your goup receives lots of traffic (check how many new members you get a week) the best you can do is place a big fat link in the 'description' area.

I expected more than one signup total, and I don't think that is unreasonable for a site that converts at 1:20 overall from second page uniques.

They are speaking to the girl. -grin-
Ueah you would think. They check out the site, but only one joined. Fuck it, maybe when I get everything else figured out I'll concentrate on it more, but for now, I'm on to more profitable traffic-building means.

can someone help me out with yahoo groups?

no fucking clue how to work with that and getting traffic

do you guys think google groups are gonna be as big as yahoo, someday?

Jinx 12-22-2004 04:52 PM

yeah it's definately not something to concentrate all of your time into but it's worth the extra few minutes it takes to manage the group a day... exposure is exposure...

chase, your groups has 3000 subscribers, it does not receive 3000 uniques a day. Out of these 3000 subscribers probably only 50 or so check out your group every day. It's like having a regular website which gets 50 uniques a day - you can't really make that much money out of it, can you?

BTW I'm not attacking you, or the site you're promoting - wishing you all the best with it :)

jacked 12-22-2004 10:30 PM

yeah for all 3000 of her members to all be active as in click on one of her links daily i highly doubt that... but its a good way to give some exposure to your sites and build a nice mailing list..

how are you guys doing that have started up groups?

i've got 20 members on this group right now started it up yesterday
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/teenpics

and i grabbed a few other pretty good keyword groups i wonder how big of a factor the actual group name has when they are searching i've tried a few times and have found that other groups get pulled even when typing in the exact spelling of the group. but it does get listed as a recomended site on top.

groups are pretty interesting.. :love-smil

LOL< I know. My skin's toughened up a bit in here.
Yeah, I understand the difference...but I did expect, after having the group for 6 months or so, and supposedly having a bit of a following, for more than one to sign up when I made the announcement.
A bit disappointing, but it won't kill me, I just have to look for a replacement for what I thought would be a decent source of joins, lol.

jacked 12-23-2004 09:20 AM

the amount of members has been steadily increasing since i started my group

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/teenpics

now has 22 members
whatever i'm doing is working ok it's drawing attention to my group so..

BackToMine 12-23-2004 09:32 AM

There is like 100 new groups in the Adult category with 1 member only after this thread :evil-laug :evil-laug

I hope google doesn't ban a master account though, I think having a couple of different accounts..maybe for one for different niches is a good idea.

But I'm going to be snatching up some good group names!

That is what I am wondering too.

i went as far as putting one of the group advertisement banners on one of my sites it seems to be working i'm not sure if the members came from there or just stumbled upon my group by searching...

i'm thinking they are going to be keeping the groups because some of the new groups have archives dating back 6 or 7 months so they must have carried over from google groups 2

jacked 12-23-2004 10:06 AM

so what type of groups have you guys started since we started talking about this i know a lot of you have made your own groups, who's seeing some success with there group as in you've established more than 10 members?
