Anyone know about travelling between the USA and Canda on a Visa

My friend is here from Germany and he has a work visa to work at a bank in New York, but hes in Michigan and doesn't know what the story is with going to Canada. I know that I can go to Canada and Mexico without a Passport or anything, but I am not sure about him. Anyone know for sure, or have any idea of who I should call to find out?

I would think that a German would only need a passport to travel to Canada as a visitor (for up to 3 months)

That's fairly standard in most civilized countries

I don't think a Visa would be required. Question is, what type of work visa does he have in the US?

Banking and finance shit. He got a copy of something faxed to my house today, so I guess its what he needed. I guess we'll find out Thursday when we go to Canada if they let us back into the country.
